Share your priorities for the Footprint Property through the Salem Harbor Plan Committee, the City is updating the Salem Harbor Plan to address key changes along our waterfront and to guide future development. This update will include the reuse of the over 40 acres of privately owned waterfront land around the new power plant (the “Footprint Property”) within the Designated Port Area (DPA). DPAs are land and water areas set aside for industrial uses that rely on access to the water to operate. Through the Harbor Plan, which will also serve as a DPA Master Plan, the City may request flexibility for certain use standards but must balance that flexibility with strategic elements that ensure that DPA interests are still protected.

The feedback received through this survey will help the Harbor Plan Committee understand the community’s goals and priorities for the reuse of this property and will inform the Committee’s visioning process going forward.
